So the best way to kick things off:

If we were to do a meetup in 2010, or another year, what kind of location would you want? I'm currently located in Edinburgh so I know the city well, can pick the best time of year, advise on transport and places to stay, and even pick out a decent venue. In 2011, we'll have the tram running from the airport into the city. It's the best time to come smile.gif

If I was to choose another city, I'd lack that advantage which is why I'd love to get someone else helping if this is the case. Somewhere like London is more connected to the world and probably easier to get to for most of you. The best locations in London, transport, venues, however, are not known to me and more difficult to arrange.

So to kick things off: your desired location!

I heard today Edinburgh is in a right state because of the preparation of tram lines etc. Bet everyone will be glad when it's finished.

London would be fine by me.
Also anywhere north-east, midlandsy would prob be good for me, Andrew, Accadia and Rob?

Well i live in York, so Manchester or Leeds will be realistically possible for me, preferable Leeds.
At least than i could ask a family member to take me there or even get adventurous and get a bus or train laugh.gif (which i've never done by myself here in the UK, apart from the buses in York of course)

True.... I haven't found it too bad and it's been several months already, but it could really do with getting finished biggrin.gif

biggrin.gif Don't know if Aaron would be interested, i need to ask him once he got up from his afternoon nap.

Ah alright Vienna wink.gif biggrin.gif

I tell you so many people want to meet up with me, i don't know what to do first!
A friend of mine wants me to come down to London in February, to spend her mother's birthday, they actually are from Vienna. Then i want to see my parents and other family members, which means i have to fly over to Austria and also get to the Czech Republic somehow. And then one way or another we want to see each other too and the BZ meetup, ahhhhhh wacko.gif I need enough money to do that all.

By the sounds of it - with my money limitations an general location of BZ fans, London is beginning to look like the best option. I need to find out if I'm still to be in a job by next year. After that, I'm thinking September/October to miss the holiday season.

Any thoughts?

Yes London looks the best. I initially thought it would be better to have it further up the country so it's fairer for all UK residents, but if people from overseas are coming, London is easier. It's especially good for me wink.gif

I also agree with Autumn as a good time of the year to do it.

Sweet - I've asked a few friends of mine who are familiar with London if they can recommend a suitable venue. Ideally I would like to be able to hire an entire venue, or at least part of a venue, and have control of the music that will be played, get them to put up a few posters, and so fourth.

Such things require resources far beyond that which I have, however. I also need to ensure my job security allows for that kind of possibility. I'll try my best to make a meet up happen, and I promise I will post about it as far in advance as I can. I hope to confirm something later this year.

I'm a little disheartened that only 8 people have done the poll. I hope that doesn't mean that only 8 people are interested.
