Who's still up for this?
It was an idea we talked about ages ago.
I've done "I'm Cracking Up I Need A Pill" and an instrumental of "Swing".
I'll do the vocals for "Swing" when I have the lyrics. (Rob!! At least a year now!!)

I have forgotten who Ben is and everything about him. This is the problem with losing all our old posts sad.gif

A tribute album, even if it was only online, would be so amazing! Ive been playing the guitar for 15 years now and often do a wee Bzoo doodle here and there when im playing to myself...can play Spaceman, Animal Army and im cracking up I need a pill...im hopeless with recording onto the PC and I have no other people I know who can play any instruments, so that pretty much rules me out!

hey guys. i know the last post is kinda old but have you done this tribute album?
i'm just asking 'cause my band is releasing a demo-cd at the end of the year with 3 songs plus a spaceman cover. i could participate with it.
btw, the genre is punk rock.

Yeah, I'm in a band as well and we could book some studio time. I really like Stereo Superstar, I'm sure we could pull that off pretty easily.

We may change the style a wee bit and add a 1 min long solo, but would it be ok if we did Stereo Superstar?

all I wanna do Is Your Soul For Sale, but due to only knowing one music style (sample, sample, sample) maybe my music course could help. lol

sorry if i sound too enthusiastic but i think it would be a nice tribute, really.

are you guys thinking of making a professional cd or an internet release?
making professional cds is expensive so we could make a section here with the songs and a jpg cover & inlay for download (if it's alright with the admin) and just burn them and print the cover.

i have some experience in digital work and i made some cd covers d.i.y. for my bands.
i'm ready, i can encode and upload my song at anytime. if we gather enough songs, i think we should encode them in flac (lossless music format) to preserve the full audio quality and then each of us would convert it to the preferred format (mp3, wma, ogg) or burn directly to cd.

other issue is, since we're recording them in different places (and countries smile.gif), the volume levels will be different. my guitar player has experience as a sound engineer and he recorded our every album and others so i can ask him to master the songs and then i'll upload the final versions here.
let's move our asses and make a list, first.

raspberryman - I'm Cracking Up I Need A Pill (finished)
mimiihu - Spaceman (finished)
sephirot - Caffeine (can you finish it?)
dance-commanda - Stereo Superstar (will you do it?)
loser kid - Is Your Soul For Sale? (will you do it?)

Hmm, this tribute idea sounds very interesting... One day I'll do Spaceman (for my personal comfort), but for the tribute album my choice is Zodiac Sign...I love too much this song and it'd be a defiance to make it (oh God what the hell will I do? lol)...though a The Boy With The X-Ray Eyes cover could be another option..

I'd like to hear a cover of Metal Vision. It's an easy song to do, right?
Or Parallel Lines... Both lo-fi.

Yeah, also thought about Parallel Lines, the riffs are very easy to play
