I wanted to create a topic to post my thoughts, activities, and things like that. I'm not yet on Facebook, but I'm considering it as another way to keep in touch. It would let you all know what I'm doing, and why I may not be posting updates as quick sometimes, as other times.

Today's Roundup:

It may be nice to do a Babylon Zoo fan meetup (UK). I'd send notification to every forum member and mailinglist member to get as many fans from across the country as possible. Here's the problem:

I'm not very good at running functions, and I'm not located in a central area. It leaves me with limited knowledge of cities that would be better candidates for such a thing. I'm hoping someone here might be interested in organizing such an event?

I'm also wanting to get around to adding interviews to the site, some article scans, and one or two extra photos. I do really want to get this done. The project at work has gone quite far over the deadline, and it has consumed my evenings doing research.

But I was also asked to help someone with a personal project, and I felt I couldn't say no. It took up all of Saturday writing/testing the code. Things have been busy, but I'm still here, and I'm checking every day.

I watched the French Open Final today. It was good to see Roger Federer finally winning the Grand Slam that has managed to elude him all this time. More work on the personal project previously mentioned.

Yes, the site was down for a bit. It's back. No, it's not going anywhere.

Finally nearing the end of a major work project! It's been draining, and no doubt the next major project is just around the corner. Looking to add content again to the site soon including:

New article scans, a few photos, adding the interview posted on the forum to an actual page on the site, and adding the Mariachi Static songs for download.

I'm missing the old days of Babylon Zoo, and to an extent the memories of my teenage years I connect with the music. I joined Facebook too, if anyone would prefer this as a way to keep in touch smile.gif

I'll try to post up an article or two that was scanned/translated and sent to me over the next day or two. It's been a really, really long day thus far.

Is there a way you could make uploading a picture as your display pic on the forum easier? I seem to remember it being a bit difficult. and on the forum where we discuss meetups e.t.c could you put a catagory called Fan Events?

Is uploading an image still problematic these days? I thought it was fairly straight forward now, but it may not be. I haven't actually checked recently - let me know the problems you encounter and I can try to make it easier and resolve any issues.

I can definitely create a new forum to organise fan events. Hopefully it will promote more fan meet ups.

And I do have accadia's DVDs! They're in storage with nearly all my belongings, but I will try to head there soon and get the things I need. smile.gif

I figured it would auto-resize but maybe not sad.gif

I was looking in to the possibility of getting IPB3.0 for this place anyway, but it's 150 bucks for not a lot of posting lately. wink.gif

Still alive, I come with a quick update:

My graphic designer friend seems very out of contact lately. We've worked on web projects together for the last eight years; I miss him a great deal as you might figure. I imagine it is rather like a musician losing a band member they work closely with. It's never quite the same. For those reasons, I will probably defer the Confused Art makeover at least for a little while smile.gif

I've thought of several things I'd like to do with the main site though. One of those is consistency. The news page looks different from the article page, article pages have random images that have nothing to do with them, the layout and headings on the music pages are all over the place. And so it goes on.

Also something I spoke of, but the HTML/CSS stylesheets are terribly inconsistent too. That aspect doesn't matter a great deal, but I'd like to improve it anyway.

More content, more articles, better grouping of pages, updating some images or design elements I dislike or that feel out of place, better CSS/HTML. A short list smile.gif

I'll get around to responding to individual comments tomorrow, I hope. My life isn't entirely busy, but there's some difficult personal situations that are certainly managing to keep my attention and energies. My apologies for this. As ever though, I'm still here. Adding things is on my mind.
