The film was supposed to be distributed by Catch 22. Not much on it out there now, but it did definitely have Stephen Dorff, Julie Benz, John Goodman, Alan Alda and Tess Harper.
This site has some details and a poster thumbnail http://thefilmcatalogue.com/catalog/FilmDetail.php?id=8998 It was to be produced by Manette Rosen of Rosen Bender productions. And was supposed to be directed by Joel Bender. http://www.linkedin.com/pub/manette-rosen/12/739/9a2 They were contemplating on shooting it in Michigan and had hired Bob Krausmann from Michigan/Hollywood Production Services to do location scouting. So what happened? Looks like Rosen and Bender bought the story and are currently shopping it around under the name "Fairies" with the hopes of turning it into another Narnia or Twilight franchise http://rosenbenderproductions.com/blog/?page_id=13/ Harper and Goodman are still attached to it, but not Dorff and of course, not Jas. I have no idea why Jas bailed, however given that Rosen and Bender have not begun filming, they could simply be running into problems financing the project. |

QUOTE(accadia @ Mar 8 2010, 09:05 PM) Really not sure if this is Jas' film or not, seeing as his name isn't connected with it anywhere on those links you've found. But interesting all the same. The link to Jas has to be Stephen Dorff. I think Dorff stayed in the picture after Jas left the project and Rosen took it over which is why neither Jas' name, nor Imortal Features is anywhere on it. Plus it's doubtful that Dorff would be attached to two separate films that were to be released in 2009 that are both still in limbo and both called "The Whisperers" BTW You can still vote for the soundtrack... http://www.worldsoundtrackacademy.com/awar...d=4629&ref= |

Even Gabriella Wright is not listed there. But since it was pre-production, cast, locations and even scripts could have been dramatically reworked. BTW remember "villaskylight" on Wikipedia? Yeah that was most likely Laura Thomson. She was Jas' production assistant for the 6 months leading up to those posts on Jas' Wiki page (they ended January 21). Seems that might have been Laura's last task as his assistant.... http://uk.linkedin.com/in/laurakatethomson |

First he was Jaz Mann, then Jas Mann, now Jasbinder Singh! A different name for each stage of his life. Or something. -------------------- |

In the US, I've noticed he's mostly Jasbinder Singh (especially when it comes to film companies) http://www.varietymediacareers.com/c/copro...7&co=323403 In the UK, he is still Jas Mann (can't post link as it contains personal information on Jas) |

In the UK he's more likely to be known, and he might not want to be remembered as Jas Mann from Babylon Zoo. -------------------- |

Mann is a pretty common name in North America - he might feel he has more creative credibility using Singh, which seems exotic. Kinda like McG not using his real name... I think when it comes to films, he's Jasbinder Singh. http://74.125.113.132/search?q=cache:gx9gc...=clnk&gl=ca He was supposed to attend the link above. Guess what. He didn't. Does Jas ever see anything through? I don't think there's a method to his madness. It seems like he goes out of his way to avoid his fans, yet he registers his latest website with his full address, and phone number etc. etc. (even if it was the house he's had since 1992)... Then he's on Wikipedia and a dating site.... Who knows... |
