QUOTE(jimmy @ Jan 31 2006, 04:54 PM)

Hello,

Just to let you know how I got on with looking for Jas Mann: the UK and London Hub Recordings phone numbers no longer work, and I've recieved no email back from them after two weeks. I've emailed Plam Pictures and they've not got back to me about Jose Marnitz Jr, who Jasmann was supposed to be colaborating with. I also found an email address for the owner of the Hub Records site, which is at the Art House pictures domain, however the email bounced, so I think we can assume that Jose Marintz no longer works there.

Polydor and EMI have not got back to me to tell me if they know anything, but I strongly suspect that they won't. As I'm sure you are aware Jasbinder Mann does not show anything recent on google, none of the bands he was going to represent come up at all, and so I now consider possibilites exhausted. Thanks for your help, any suggestions welcomed.

I found some strange stuff out though, about 2003 apparently he recorded an album with Nell McAndrew!

I find it quite amazing how he managed to hide his identity online. Maybe hes got another alias?! The owner of this site managed a questions and answers with him, so he must still be about doing something. The only other suggestion would be that he has died and it was never mentioned!

That Nell McAndrew rumour is certainly long going. This is sounding very bad indeed at the moment. The arthouse email address used to work as I have some previous emails sent out from BZoo Online by the previous site owner. He contacted the email address to see if he could get an interview with Jas for the site, and Jose Martintz responded saying they were the attorney for Jas Mann.

However, if that email address now bounces... have we all been had? Starting to feel like it .. mad.gif

Also, many thanks for your research and keeping us updated Jimmy. I'm sure I speak on behalf of all the dedicated fans when we say it's greatly appreciated. For once it'd be nice to get solid info

I've sent an email to Q magazine to see if they can find out what's going on. It's a shot in the dark but it's the best I can do.

Good thinking though, maybe they'll be able to find more information and shed greater light on things. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

On a side note, though important, it seems that Spaceman is being used in a film trailer. Maybe someone has mentioned this in another thread, I've not had time to check. The film is Alien Autopsy, so someone obviously knows who to contact for permission to use this music. But is it Jas Mann himself, or EMI?

No one's mentioned this film.
After watching the trailer I thought it was a Hollywood movie, but then I looked it up on IMDb.

Someone has just mentioned to be that Babylon Zoo were mentioned in the last two weeks on the Colin and Edith lunch time show on radio one, and Space Man was played as a featured song. I don't know about the format of this feature, but a caller was involved and they said that Jas Mann was sill recording, but in a strange location, a foreign country we think. I'm sorry I can't be more precise. Still no luck with any replies from anyone who I thought might be able to help.

Thank god for that..

I knew Spaceman would be played more now... This is something i've been waiting for, for a very long time. I remember 4-5 years ago flicking over radio stations all summer waiting for Spaceman to be played somewhere.. only once in the last 9 years i've heard it on the radio.

Same problem here. I've heard it only twice though in past 9 years. tongue.gif

He's stil working...unless he resigned few months ago. I got an email from Hub Records stating that Jas is sitting in the recording studio and working on the new album. OK, it was some time ago...4 months maybe?
