Im learning punjabi from a few people in punjabi
If anyone else here s learning punjabi will you help me pleese?

All i know at the moment is

adverbs=padnave
nouns=nave
Egg=Aanda
Banana=Kela
Apple=Say
Love=Pyar (read y as in Yak)
Window=Khidkee (read d here as in dog) slang word is "Bari"
hello=satshriakal
teach=padauna
now=han
meet=milna
how r u=ki haal hai
thanks=dhanwad
guitar=sarangi
go=jana
god=rab
good=vadiya
book=kitab
religus preachers=guru
red=laal
eye=akh
blue=neela
animal=jaanvar
feed=khavaayo
dont feed the animals=janvaraa nu kuch na khvaayo or janvaraa nu kuch ne deyo
bye=satshrikal or chalde han or fer milange
man=aadmi or insaan
space=pulaad
space man=pulaad aadmi or pulaad insaan
temperature=TAPMAAN
fever=BUKHAAR
Goodbye=Satshrikal or fir milde haa
continue=kadon
did you went there=ki tusi uthe gaye c
here did=ki

and there=uthe and c is used for past tense
do you want to drink water=ki tusi pani pena chunde ho
water=pani
want=chunde
this is mine=eh mera hai
mine=mera
dont do this=eh na kaaro
I like this place=menu eh jagha pasand hai
I=menu
place=jagha
I am in love=menu pyar ho gya
I miss you a lot=main tohanu bahut yaad kardi han

I only know stuff from the Jas Q&A a few years ago.
Red eye blue eye = lal ak pali ak
and something (perhaps "don't Feed the animals) = satnam si bayhar guru ji.

Everyone else can correct me if I'm wrong. biggrin.gif

I could do with learning some Punjabi too. Come across it so much in my line of work. One of my biggest regrets was not paying any attention in my French classes because when your young, it all seems pointless and Maths and Science were the way forward.

Anyway..... If any one could translate 'smoking da reefa' into Punjabi I'd be very grateful biggrin.gif

My ex husband is Punjabi i tried to learn it a few years ago and had a book for German - Punjabi. I don't know where it is now. Try Amazon they must have some books about the language. That's where i got mine from.

They said there is no such word as reefa in punjabi

is like saying
Namaste in Hindi

The guru-stands for Guru Nanak,Guru Gobind Singh, and gurus of the
sikh religion, It's like saying "May the guru bless you" in English I

Hmmm Punjabi seems similar to Hindi / Urdu
But after googling, found out that there are some differences though
