Looking For Help!

Hello to all Babylon Zoo fans! It has been over a year since the last update was posted on this website, and for one I think that's far too long! I am currently working to add more content to the site and fill in the missing spaces. But I need your help! If you have any video files, rare audio recordings we don't already have, or would be willing to help write a Sandkings Biography, please get in touch and help out!

Ideally, I would love to at least have a high quality copy of every music video. Interviews from television shows, and live performances would be a plus. Lastly, some pages dedicated to The Sandkings including history of the band, the music released, and any photographs from the time and scans of cover art would really help document the whole creative journey leading to BZ.

If you can help out, please contact me. Thanks!

The Mann of many talents

Babylon Zoo frontman aka Jas Mann is known professionally as Jasbinder Singh Mann nowadays. He is the co-chairman and CEO of Indomina Group, a media company that was founded in 2009.

The company's objective is to produce and distribute motion pictures, television, music and interactive games. Indomina Releasing plan to release a number of movies (mostly in the United States) in 2011. They include True Legend, Griff the Invisible, Fire of Conscience and Bodyguards and Assassins. There is an emphasis on acquiring foreign films.

In Febraury 2011, it was announced that Indomina would be partnering with world-famous Pinewood Studios to build a new, state-of-the-art television and film facility in the Dominican Republic. Jas said: "The ground breaking ceremony for Pinewood Indomina Studios marks a major step forward in Indomina's evolution. Building and operating a world-class production facility in the Dominican Republic has always been an integral part of our vision for the company, and we're delighted to be doing so with a partner as distinguished and experienced as Pinewood."

I'm Cracking Up I Need A Pill
Paranoia La Mode

I was recently sent details of an article which talks about Babylon Zoo and the often overlooked tracks. It's great to see people are still talking about Babylon Zoo 15 years on! You can read the article here

A Graphic Novel

I'm a little behind on posting up this news, but a huge thanks to the person who emailed me about it.

It would seem a graphic novel is in the works for Immortal Features, with a tie in to Jas Mann's latest film. The blog entry for the artist working on it can be read here.

Edit: The blog post has now been removed for unknown reasons

The Whisperers

Just when we were starting to think it may be all over, Jas Mann manages to surprise us all once again.

The Whisperers is a upcoming film Jas is working on, described as a thriller. Plot outline: a psychological tale of a spiritual woman who suffers tragic loss and is plunged into a silent world only to rediscover her faith and find peace in a dark, deadly, unexpected place. Jasbinder Singh is listed as the film director/writer/co-producer and composer.

Thanks to accadia for keeping up with the news on this. For the latest, check this topic on the forums.

The end of Babylon Zoo?

In 2004, some positive developments were to be seen on the Babylon Zoo front. Hub Records emerged, resulting in a steady flow of communication between Jas and his fans. With the 'working title' of his album announced in 2005, new material started to seem only a heart beat away. But premature excitement has paved the way to disappontement.

The first blow came with the closure of Hub Records, and with no word from the Mann himself since, it leaves the burning question: is this the end for Babylon Zoo and Jas Mann as a recording artist?

Regarding the New BZoo album
The working title!

The new BZoo album is still underway, and I've been informed - exclusively - that the working title for the new Babylon Zoo album is "Cold Clockwork Doll"! It's nearly 7 years since the last BZoo album was released; to see new material slowly becoming reality is fantastic!

What's in store for 2005
New BZoo album?

2005 should prove a promising year for Babylon Zoo, with talk of a new album being released (see the last Q&A) later on this year. An exact release date is still to be announced. Keep a look out for updates to the Babylon Zoo section of the Hub Records website!

Editors Note: The Hub Records website is no longer online.

Be part of the next BZoo Album
Hey Everyone!

It brings me great pleasure in announcing that Jas has given us all the opportunity to interact with the next Babylon Zoo album!! Here are the details I've been sent:

Jas would like the fans to interact in the making of the new BZOO album.

If each person can describe themselves or their life to date in one word, he will write each and every word into the song lyrics on the album.

You've got until the 30th of November to take part, so get your thinking caps on!

Sending your entry
When you've thought of the word best describing yourself or life, you can submit it to us by posting in this thread, or via the site feedback form. I'll be closing this thread on the 1st of December and forwarding on all the entries we receive to Jas Mann.

For discussions related to this thread, please post in:
http://www.babylonzoo.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=897

Note: We can't accept entries submitted to us any later than the 30th of November.

Also, a second Q&A session with Jas Mann has taken place, with questions submitted by members of our community forum. You can read all the questions, and the answers here: http://www.babylonzoo.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=886

Send your questions to Jas (2nd time)!
Hey BZ Fans

Due to the popularity of the first Q&A session with Jas Mann we are now running it a second time! If you want to submit any questions you do so via the Contact link on this website, or post them in the thread created specifically in the forum: http://www.babylonzoo.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=843.

Q&A answers now online!
The questions submitted, for the Q&A from the fans, have been passed onto Jas Mann and the answers can be read here: http://www.babylonzoo.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=496

Hub Records now open
As forum regulars know, the official Hub Records site is now open! As the name suggests, Hub Records is a record company which Jas Mann is involved in. It features work from various artists including new material from Jas Mann under the recording name of "Mariachi Static". There are also plans to add some unreleased Babylon Zoo material to the site in future.

Should you wish, you can disscuss this exciting development here: http://www.babylonzoo.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=460
