Anyone else with Accadia's excellent BZ DVD notice during the TV performances where he's miming how little effort Jas puts into making it look like he's playing guitar? It's not even remotely convincing. beginning to wind me up actually. Just sort of waving his hand over it. In the All The Money's Gone ones he's doing it on a bass. It's insane.
Wonder why he does it? Crazy man.

Not to mention the playback singing! Why he just can't sing? Why he has to play it from the tape. Lazy biatch.

And I think he's just lazy or wants to look cool with the guitar. biggrin.gif
Khehhe.

If you notice on some of the perfomances where he's miming he fools around.. I don't think he liked miming. One one perfomance is completely stops playing his guitar and doesnt even sing into the mic! If i was in the same situation I would have done the same and not bother putting any effort "playing" the guitar. lol

In those days when bands performed on shows especially in the UK they had to mime.

Fair enough.
It just looks a bit stupid, especially in the TBWTXRE video.

I'll probably make a new thread to discuss anything on the dvds when I've sent them all out.

Richard and Judy? I don't remember seeing them on there! I must watch that dvd again tonight, i think i've missed bits...

I didn't bother much with watching the bits where some german woman is talking all over Jas, i couldn't hear what he was saying. And if there's any language which i do not understand a single word, its german. And i can't lip read biggrin.gif

How much does it cost for the DVD? I'd like to get one! Try and jog my memory a bit! and richard and judy never done a decent interview ever, so don't expect the Jas mann one, a complete spaced out man, to be any better! If I was Jas I'd prob have tried and made it as difficult as possible!

Actually, I think there are many many people out there that don't realise that many artists/groups are miming when they perform. Take Ricky Martin on the recent grand finale of the Winter Olympics; not only had they re-recorded his voice (which was playback) to make it sound 'live', but also he really visibly forgot to mime to some of the words in one of the songs and the ones I was watching with became extremely surprised "Oh, so he was miming?".

Personally, I'm really fed up with miming. When the Radio NRJ-tours travels Sweden and are shown on TV, it is very apparent that most of the artists/groups which the record companies really promote much are the ones that 'have' to mime. It seems like the artists/groups can't do otherwise, even if they don't want to mime. It looked rather tragic, when little Amy Diamond, 13, performed her songs brilliantly LIVE while Swedish singer Shirley Clamp (which so often has been praised for her voice, doing backing vocals for many major artists such as Britney and others) are going for playback. Ridicilous. If I was an artist, I would refuse to appear on shows which forced me to do things playback, and if the record company wanted me to go playback on shows, I would ask them if they didn't believe in my voice and do my best to get them to change their minds. Otherwise I would probably do something in the veins of what you said Jas Mann was doing... jerking around while miming, making it really apparent that everything is playback.
